Anastasia was born in Ukraine, grew up in Canada, and now she lives in Germany. She started practicing Hatha yoga at the age of 15 back in 2003 after being diagnosed with scoliosis. Through a disciplined practice, Anastasia learned first-hand the self-healing aspect behind yoga, that was tested once more after an accident that left her with a broken and paralyzed arm when she was 19.
After moving to Germany Anastasia completed a Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in Thailand in the Bihar School Tradition. Immediately after the training, Anastasia turned back to the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga method, that she first came in contact with back in 2011. In 2014, she finished Ashtanga yoga Teacher’s Intensive with Grischa Steffin, a long-time student of Richard Freeman. However, in 2015, Anastasia began to practice under Andrea Lutz, who teaches in the Nancy Gilgoff and David Williams tradition. Ever since, Andrea, and subsequently Nancy, became Anastasia’s main teachers, and in August 2017, she completed Ashtanga Yoga Intensive Teacher Training with Andrea.
Anastasia is passionate about yoga in connection to other disciplines and sciences, especially to Quantum Mechanics, Neuroscience, Psychology, Western Philosophy, Buddhism, and Nutrition. Her classes are a dynamic fusion of primarily Hatha and Ashtanga yoga, breath-centered, with an aim to go beyond the self-imposed limitations of the mind into a space of contact with the universal consciousness.
